The Zupps Group of Companies have been a Queensland icon for over 60 years. The business began with humble beginnings in 1948, as a VW dealership in Ipswich. Over the years it expanded to become Queensland’s largest privately owned motor group, with multi-franchise dealerships all across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

 

In May 2007, Zupps was purchased by Automotive Holdings Group (AHG), a Perth-based company, and Australia’s largest automotive retailer. AHG is a leading automotive and logistics group that traces its origins back to 1952. Zupps operations are a major part of Automotive Holdings Group.

 

Today, Zupps operates twelve vehicle dealerships, two Trucks & Commercials Centres, a Holden Racing Team & HSV apparel & merchandise superstore, as well as a large parts distribution network. The group employs approximately 800 staff throughout Queensland.

 

The Zupps Group has a proud history and strong connection with the people of South-East Queensland, serving the community from several locations including: Aspley, Mt Gravatt, Browns Plains, Beaudesert, Southport, Helensvale, West Burleigh, Capalaba, Rocklea and Coopers Plains.

Commercial Vehicles

 

In addition to our strong presence in the passenger vehicle market, Zupps also sells commercial vehicles including: Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks and UD Trucks. Zupps have extensive experience in this market, and have held the Mitsubishi Fuso and Nissan UD franchises for over 20 years. We have two Trucks & Commercial Centres based in Rocklea and the Gold Coast.

 

 

Parts

 

The Zupps Parts & Distribution Centre Head Office is based in Coopers Plains, which also houses the Holden Lions Den Superstore. They are the official Queensland Distributors for Holden Racing Team, HSV, Jack Daniels and Holden Apparel and Merchandise in Queensland. Another parts distribution outlet is located in Townsville. Zupps Parts sells to the local dealer network for: Holden, HSV, Mitsubishi, AC Delco, Subaru, Suzuki, Kia, Saab, Hummer and Hyundai. With a unique computerized warehouse Zupps Parts is a leader in the industry.
 

All Zupps dealerships boast a comprehensive supply of parts, merchandise and apparel, as well as servicing most makes and models of vehicles.

 

 

Service

 

All Zupps Service facilities are world class, with the most up-to-date automotive technology available. Equipped with the very latest factory-specific computers and diagnostic equipments, Zupps Service Departments have all the equipment and know-how to service the modern motor vehicle to the very highest levels. 

 

Customer Service Lounges offer free tea and coffee making facilities, playtime equipment for the kids, business work-stations with telephones and fax machines, and a selection of videos for free viewing. Free shuttle buses are also available at some locations for your convenience to take you into the CBD or in and around the local surrounding suburbs.

 

 

Why the Elephant?

It was Ipswich Show Day in the 1960s, and someone had the bright idea of an elephant race. Officials sought sponsorship to make it happen. Big John Zupps saw the potential, threw a giant rug with Zupps Printed on the sides over his elephant, and joined the race. Big John liked the result so much, he decided to make it what is now the most recognized logo in the motor industry. The giant elephant is now synonymous with Zupps Motors. History has forgotten where the Zupps elephant finished on that Ipswich Show Day, but it has not forgotten its rider, Mr Bill Hayden, former Governor-General of Australia, and then local member for Ipswich.
